Just a couple of photos of my boy....
This boy knows how to relax
What?  It was cold!
Halloween Bandanas  October 2014

Bruno has adjusted to having a permanent sister.  Bruno and Clara get along well and Clara follows Bruno's lead.  He eats grass, she eats grass.  He barks, she barks.  He has taught her a lot. Sometimes he is like a pesky little brother and teases her.  He tries to get her to play, but she has never experienced that and responds poorly.  She growls and snarls but she has no teeth with which to bite, then Bruno just walks away like he didn't do a thing.
Where we goin', mom?
Umm, do we have to go outside?  It looks kind of cold out there!
More of sweet Clara.  She had terrible ear infections and skin issues.  Her front teeth back to her canines were broken off at the gums.  She was in pretty bad shape.  We went through several different medications for her ears and her skin and finally in December she was well enough to be spayed.  She had a really hard time recovering from that and we thought it was because of her age. A few days after Christmas, she just kind of crashed.  She would not eat, was throwing up and was lethargic.  She was so sick.  I rushed her to the vets and after testing we found out she has Addison's disease.  We have gone through the process of working to get her medications right for her disease and she is doing really well these days.  She has to have a monthly shot of Percorten and daily Prednisone which we have to boost when she might be stressed.  She has only had one bad episode since her diagnosis.  We love her and are so happy to have her in our family.
We have a new friend at our house.  I saw her picture on facebook.  She was on the euthanasia list in the Orange County Shelter.  Something about her face just tugged at my heartstrings.  She has been found as a stray and brought to the shelter August 25, 2013.  They thought she was about 15 years old.  They had named her Jazzy.  We believe she was dumped after having been used as a breeder.  I had her transported  up to Sacramento and September 5, 2013 she arrived to begin her new life.  We believe she had never been on grass before because she would not go out onto the grass.  I picked her up and sat her on the grass and she lifted her paws as she slowly walked around like it was all new to her.  She had a rough go for a while.  She wanted love so badly but she was so frightened.  Even now, a year and a half later, she will come to be petted, wagging her tail, but when you pet her, her tail slightly tucks and she stiffens ever so slightly.  It has gotten much better for her, but I marvel at how brave she is to keep pushing out of her confort zone to love and be loved.  One day after she had been with us for several months, she was sleeping on the couch.  I glanced over at her and she looked so darn sweet.  Without thinking I reached out and touched her and she jumped as high as the back of the couch.  I felt terrible for scaring her.  She has come a long way since then.
Wow...here we are in March 2015!  I wanted to post a photo of Harvey just before he went to his new home.  It was August of 2013.  I was allowed to be part of the process for selecting his forever home. We met a family at the park and Harvey instantly took to the children.  He now has a boy and a girl to love him and his own home.  It was so hard to let him go.  I felt like no one could possibly love him as much or take care of him as well as I did.  Quite a learning experience.  I look forward to fostering again.  Here's a before and after of sweet Harvey.
He looked wonderful!  I still think of Harvey and hope he is well and loved.  He took a piece of my heart with him....I  Love You, Harvey.

My Precious Bruno

I wanted to post a few photos I was finally able to download of my baby Bruno.....in no special order, except the first one is my favorite!  I love my Bruno!
At a rest stop on the way home from Encinitas
Why are you taking my picture?

I love me a good bone to chew on

Awe, yes.  This is my kingdom!

Do I see someone close to my property?

Love my yard!

I love to chew up toys

Resting in my kingdom

Dad giving me some love

Hey, you done scratching already?

Talking a winter's nap

I do like mom's pillow

The beach air makes me sleepy

This is where I live

A long car trip, but I have my pillow so I'm happy

I think I see a squirrel!
